From greasy wool to garment
We work closely with an established, vertically integrated wool manufacturer that manages the complete journey from greasy wool to finished knitwear.
Starting with raw wool sourced from Victoria, the fibre is washed and prepared, dyed and spun into yarn, before being knitted and finished into the pieces we design for WOOLA.
Rather than beginning with ready-made yarn, the process begins with the wool itself.

Having each stage within one integrated manufacturing process gives greater consistency and care throughout the making of our knitwear.
The people preparing the wool are connected to the same process that turns it into yarn. The yarn continues its journey into knitting, linking and finishing — all the way to the final garment.
It is a slower, more considered way of making, with an understanding of the material from its rawest form.
